things i will never understand

(standard flower picture to serve as a visual pick-me-up for a text-filled post. you're welcome)
"Instructions for living a life:
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it."
//Mary Oliver//

things I will never understand:

i. how there are people in the world that live their entire lives while I sleep (and vice versa)

ii. the way the future is made up of a series of nows

iii. the way a song/sight/smell can trigger deja vu

iv. people who don't like to read (it's like going on an adventure without having to get out of your pajamas! how much better can it get?!)

v. the way bobby pins can disappear at lightning speed

vi. how we can be so privileged that waking up in the morning is taken for granted

vii. the way folks can live next door to each other for years but can count the number of conversations on one hand (they all lasted less than a minute)

Part of my quest to pay attention, be astonished, and tell about it. Feel free to adapt this idea for yourself, or, answer in the comments. I'd love to hear what astonishes you.
